Job Photo Resizer

Pick your application — FPSC, PSSC, CSS, US visa or CNIC — crop your photo, and get the exact pixels and file size the form demands. Free, one click, on your device.

Drop your photo here, or click to browse JPG, PNG or WebP — processed on-device in your browser, never uploaded

On-device, always. Your photo never leaves this page — cropping, resizing and compression all happen in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing is stored.

How to resize a job photo for FPSC, PSSC, CSS or a visa form

  1. Pick your application. Choose the preset that matches your form: FPSC / PSSC (200 × 250 px, max 25 KB), CSS or general job applications (300 × 350 px, max 30 KB), US visa (600 × 600 px, max 240 KB), or CNIC / Document (your photo's own proportions, max 100 KB).
  2. Upload a clear, front-facing photo. Use a recent picture with a plain background and your face clearly visible. JPG, PNG and WebP all work; starting with a larger photo gives a sharper result.
  3. Frame your face in the crop box. Drag the photo to position it and use the zoom slider to get closer. The crop box keeps the exact aspect ratio your preset requires, so what you see is exactly what you get.
  4. Hit "Resize & compress". The tool scales the cropped area to the exact required pixels, then automatically tunes the JPEG quality until the file fits under the KB limit — no guessing, no second attempt.
  5. Check the numbers, then download. You'll see the final dimensions and file size before you save — if both match your form's requirements, download the JPG and upload it to the portal.

Why these exact sizes and file limits exist

Government portals reject photos that don't match their spec — not out of fussiness, but because their systems are built around fixed image slots. A 200 × 250 photo has a 4:5 portrait ratio; upload a square and the portal either squishes your face or refuses the file. The KB cap exists because thousands of applicants upload at once, and every extra kilobyte multiplies across their servers.

PresetDimensionsMax sizeWhy this spec
FPSC / PSSC200 × 250 px25 KBFederal and provincial commission portals validate both numbers before accepting the form.
CSS / General300 × 350 px30 KBA slightly larger portrait common to job applications and CV databases.
US Visa600 × 600 px240 KBThe standard square digital visa-photo size used by US consular systems.
CNIC / DocumentOriginal proportions (capped at 1600 px)100 KBDocuments and ID scans keep their own shape — only the file size is forced down.
How the KB target is hit: JPEG quality is a trade-off dial between detail and file size. The tool binary-searches it — trying a quality level, measuring the resulting file, then narrowing the range — until it lands just under your preset's KB cap at the highest quality that fits. That is why the output is always the best-looking file that still passes the portal's limit.

Getting a clean crop

Face-detection is not involved — you are the art director. A few rules of thumb: leave a little space above the head and include the shoulders, keep the eyes roughly on the upper third of the frame, and make sure the background is plain and light. If your original photo is very dark or busy, zoom in tighter so the face fills more of the frame — a clear face beats a scenic background every time.

One more practical note: portals sometimes ask for the photo to be recent (usually within the last 3–6 months). Resizing an old photo meets the technical spec but not the rule — when in doubt, take a fresh one against a white wall in daylight.

Frequently asked questions

What size photo does FPSC require?

FPSC (and PSSC) online applications require a JPG photo of exactly 200 × 250 pixels, no larger than 25 KB. This tool's FPSC / PSSC preset produces exactly that — the right dimensions and a file size under the limit.

Will resizing my photo reduce its quality?

A little sharpness is always lost when a photo is shrunk and recompressed, but at these small sizes the difference is invisible on application portals. The tool keeps JPEG quality as high as possible while still fitting under the KB target.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Your photo is cropped, resized and compressed entirely on your device in the browser — it is never uploaded, sent or stored anywhere.

What if my photo is smaller than the preset size?

The tool will upscale it to the required dimensions so the portal accepts it, but upscaling cannot add detail — a blurry small photo stays blurry. For best results start with a clear, well-lit photo larger than the target size.

Can I use this for passport or visa photos other than the US visa preset?

The US Visa preset (600 × 600 px, ≤ 240 KB) matches the standard square visa-photo spec. For other documents, the CNIC / Document preset keeps your photo's own proportions and compresses it under 100 KB.
