Thank you for your business.
Your data stays yours. Business details are saved in this browser's local storage; client details and line items are never stored. Everything is built on your device — nothing is uploaded.

How to make an invoice

  1. Enter your business details once. Name, address, email and phone are saved on your device (local storage) and pre-filled every time you return — you type them exactly once, ever.
  2. Add your client. Name, address and a contact line. Client details are never stored; they're part of this invoice only.
  3. Build the line items. Each row takes a description, quantity and rate. Add as many rows as you need; the amounts and subtotal update live.
  4. Set tax and discount. Pick your currency (USD, EUR, GBP or PKR), enter a tax percentage if one applies, and add a flat or percentage discount if you've offered one.
  5. Review the preview. The invoice on the right is exactly what prints — check the numbers, the spelling and the invoice number before you send it.
  6. Download / Print PDF. The button opens your browser's print dialog in a clean invoice-only layout. Choose "Save as PDF" for a file, or your printer for paper.

How the totals are calculated

The arithmetic follows standard invoicing order — discount first, then tax on what's left:

Subtotal = Σ (qty × rate)  →  Discounted = Subtotal − discount  →  Tax = Discounted × tax%  →  Total = Discounted + Tax
StepExample: 2 items, 10% discount, 5% tax
Line items10 × Rs 5,000 = Rs 50,000; 1 × Rs 20,000 = Rs 20,000
SubtotalRs 70,000
Discount (10%)− Rs 7,000 → Rs 63,000
Tax (5% of 63,000)+ Rs 3,150
Total dueRs 66,150

Discounting before tax is the norm in most jurisdictions and is what clients expect to see: the tax applies to what they actually pay, not the sticker price. A flat discount subtracts a fixed amount; a percentage discount scales with the subtotal. The invoice number is auto-generated (INV-YYYYMMDD-XXX) so every invoice is unique — edit it if you run your own numbering scheme.

Keeping your invoices professional

A clean invoice gets paid faster. Three habits matter more than design: number every invoice sequentially (gaps look sloppy and raise questions), put payment terms in the notes ("Payable within 14 days" beats silence — add your bank account or IBAN there too), and send the PDF, not a screenshot — the print layout here is built for exactly that. Describe line items specifically ("Logo design — 3 concepts" rather than "Design work"); vague lines are the ones clients query, and queries delay payment. If a client pays late, a polite reminder referencing the invoice number and due date works better than a fresh invoice — and keeping a simple log of sent invoices (number, client, amount, paid/unpaid) saves you at month-end.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my business details saved?

In your browser's local storage on your own device — they are pre-filled the next time you open the generator, and never sent to any server.

Does the Download / Print PDF button create a real PDF?

Yes — it opens your browser's print dialog with a clean invoice-only layout. Choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination and you get a proper PDF file; choose your printer to print a paper copy.

Which currencies are supported?

USD, EUR, GBP and PKR. Amounts are formatted with the correct symbol and thousands separators for the currency you pick.

Is the discount applied before or after tax?

Before tax: the discount (flat amount or percentage) reduces the subtotal first, and the tax percentage is then calculated on the discounted subtotal. This is the standard invoicing order.

Is any of my invoice data sent anywhere?

No. The invoice is built entirely in your browser. Business details are stored only in local storage on your device, and client details and line items are never stored at all.
