Salary Income Tax Calculator (Pakistan)

Updated for Budget 2026-27 (Finance Act 2026) — most online calculators still use last year's slabs. See your annual tax, monthly deduction and take-home in seconds.

Estimate only — not tax advice. Applies where salary is more than 75% of taxable income; excludes super tax and other heads of income. All calculations happen on your device; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

How to use the salary tax calculator

  1. Pick monthly or annual. Most people think in monthly salary — the tool annualizes it (× 12) the same way your employer does.
  2. Enter your gross salary. The figure before any deductions, EOBI or provident fund.
  3. Hit "Calculate tax". The progressive FBR slabs are applied to your annual figure.
  4. Read the breakdown. Annual tax, the monthly deduction you'll see on your payslip, your take-home pay, and exactly how much tax each slab added.

The math: progressive slabs on annual salary

Annual salary × progressive slab rates = annual tax ÷ 12 = monthly deduction

FBR taxes the annual figure, not each month in isolation. Each slice of your salary is taxed at its own slab rate — only the portion above a threshold pays the higher rate, never your whole salary.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the current FBR salary tax slabs?

The calculator uses the salaried-individual slabs from the Finance Act 2026 (tax year 2027, in force since 1 July 2026), with 8 progressive brackets from 0% up to 35%. Tax slabs change with every budget — treat the result as an estimate and verify with FBR or a tax professional.

Why is tax worked out annually then divided by 12?

FBR taxes salary on the annual figure: your employer annualizes your monthly pay (× 12), applies the progressive slabs to that total, then divides the resulting annual tax by 12 for the monthly deduction on your payslip.

Is the 9% surcharge on high salaries included?

No surcharge is added, because the Finance Act 2026 abolished the surcharge that previously applied to salaried income. If your total income includes non-salary heads, separate rules may apply.

Salary par tax kaise calculate hota hai?

Aapki monthly salary ko 12 se multiply karke annual figure nikali jati hai, phir FBR ke progressive slabs lagtay hain. Jo annual tax banta hai usay 12 par divide karke monthly payslip se kaata jata hai.

Is this tax advice?

No. The calculator gives indicative estimates for planning. Deductions, credits, allowances and ATL status can change your actual liability — verify with FBR or a tax professional before acting on the numbers.

Is anything I type sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your financial figures are never uploaded, stored, or seen by anyone.
